COATS FOR KIDS!
ASID Alaska will be participating in the Coats for Kids, a program run by the Salvation Army, which donates new and gently used coats to kids from low-income homes within the Anchorage Community. Coat distribution will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2013, at Clark Middle School.
We will also be gathering school supplies for the AWAIC shelter for women & children. Supplies will be purchased in accordance with the required supplies lists from the Anchorage School District and will be donated to AWAIC in mid-August.
As an organization, we’re getting an early jump-start to these charity events as we’d like to take advantage of season-end clearance for the coats, and back to school sales on school supplies throughout the summer months. Shopping the sales will help stretch our dollars so we can provide assistance to more children in need. Thank you so much for your support and donation!
